Shearcut knives are a two-part construction. Part 1 is the cutting edge insert precision ground to give a good clean cool cut. Part 2 is the insert holder base which is made of a hardened material for durability. Blades are set at an angle which allows only the cutting edge to touch the plate, reducing friction and conserving power.
